Fundraiser at Culver’s on Layton and 6th Street on Monday, November 19

For most of us in the United States, the horror of Polio is a thing of the past (there were nearly 60,000 cases in the U.S. alone in 1953).  And, while it’s true that amazing progress has been made, the fight is not over yet.  In the 1980s, when hundreds of thousands of children world-wide were still being afflicted with Polio, Rotary International made a commitment to End Polio Now.  We are now at just a few cases world wide, but even one crippled or dead child is too much.  Rotary, with the help of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, who are matching 2 for 1 all funds raised, continues to work to eradicate polio.
As part of that effort, the Rotary Club of Mitchell Field is working with Culver’s on Layton, at 6th St., to raise funds to end polio now.  On Monday, November 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, when people purchase a meal at regular price at this Culver’s the store will donate 10% of the purchase price to the Rotary Club of Mitchell Field’s effort to End Polio Now.
Please join us in helping to eradicate polio.  It is as easy as eating.  Please thank Culver’s for their support of this effort when you stop by the restaurant.
