Business Spotlight – Taylor Made Express / Action Express

Meeting Your Same-Day Logistics Needs
Every Time, Anytime, On time

Named after the president’s son, Taylor Made Express was founded in 1995 as an expedited freight company. Founder Timothy McDonald started out with one cargo van, and over the years grew the company to over 100+ power units. To better position themselves in the market, Taylor Made Express acquired Action Express in 2005. According to Action Express General Manager Scott Schuster, “we are two companies that operate as one.”

The business’ main focus is still expedited freight, but has since evolved into a full transportation company. This includes warehousing, brokerage and logistics. Essentially, they move anything from an envelope to a full truck load anywhere in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Over the years the warehouseing side of the business has grown. Schuster mentioned that they currently have “four buildings located in the Milwaukee area, with over 200,000 sqft of space. As well as a location in Addison, IL.”

As Taylor Made Express / Action Express looks to the future, Schuster sees “the next couple years being relatively flat, based on the current economic conditions due to COVID-19.” But like most business owners, they are hoping to see the community rebound sooner, rather than later.

“We like being in the area of the Airport Gateway because of it’s location to Milwaukee and Chicago. Also, the major improvements to the road and landscape along South Howell Avenue over the past years. Something we as a community can be proud of.” -Scott Schuster, Action Express General Manager
