QPS Employment Group Awards

We must be doing something right! QPS Employment Group is proud of the recognition we have received as a great place to work.
Our Bottom Line

While all this growth and all these awards might make you think we’re a huge corporation that only cares about its bottom line, that’s not the case.

We’re big enough to offer you the full-spectrum of traditional and strategic staffing services, while at the same time, small enough that we don’t lose touch with our VIPs – YOU. In fact, we provide 24/7 on-call support to employers and job seekers throughout Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

So, you see, we're just trying to help companies find good talent, as well as help people find good jobs. And that's OUR bottom line.

The Garden District Neighborhood Association has three main objectives:
• To work toward establishing and maintaining the 13th District as Milwaukee’s Garden District
• To support establishing and maintaining Neighborhood Associations in the Garden District
• To improve the quality of life through civic involvement and community education

The Garden District
The Garden Committee focuses on making this the Garden District. It encourages business owners, residents and others to plant and beautify to live up to the common council approved plan drafted by the committee. The Garden Committee runs a business and residential garden awards program with the sponsorship of the Gateway to Milwaukee recently highlighting “curb appeal” to spur on planting in front of homes. They have run perennial flower exchanges, educational programs, done community plantings and inspired a rental garden plot site now sponsored by the UW- Extension. They have assisted neighborhood associations in grant applications and grants for neighborhood beautification projects. Currently, the committee is working on a community garden at 6th and Howard and beautification along 6th street starting at Howard. A pocket park is planned for 5th Place and Howard. This committee meets at 6:30 P.M. on the first Tuesday of every month at the Energy Exchange, 4121 S. 6th Street. To join the committee, contact Chairman Bryan Simon at 234-0581.

Neighborhood Associations
Neighborhood associations in the Garden District have been invited to have a representative on the Garden District Neighborhood Association (GDNA) board. The intent is to establish a place where the various associations could share information and techniques for running a neighborhood association. In 2011, this concept will be further explored and a committee formed to make recommendations to the board as to what can be done to assist in training and would benefit the neighborhood associations of the Garden District. Since new neighborhood associations have no money to operate, the GDNA has offered an incentive to each neighborhood association of $100 to each start up neighborhood association that attends one GDNA meeting and then sends a letter to apply for it. A second $100 is offered for those becoming a member and attending three meetings, training sessions or a combination of the two. Neighborhood associations have also been offered a $500 grant for under taking a planting project in their area. It can be used as a match in City of Milwaukee “Well Neighborhood” grants.

Civic Involvement and Community Education
Historically, the GDNA has been active in measures to improve and protect the neighbors in the Garden District. This included meetings held to have residents learn more about the freeway, a candidate forum and testifying before committees or sending letters. We have supported a railroad quiet zone, the first in the city and opposed cash for gold places. The GDNA spoke in support of the resolution naming this the Garden District and has seat as an honorary board member of the Airport Gateway Business Association. A committee will be established in 2011 to continue civic and community involvement.

Because doing business has gotten so much more complicated, the benefits and services a Chamber of Commerce offer have become more varied. There are tangible advantages for businesses becoming Chamber members. Chambers still provide a vehicle through which professional people and businesses can work for the common good of their communities, but they also serve many roles other than community service provider.

Today’s South Suburban Chamber of Commerce can be a versatile and powerful business tool, and can mean many things to many businesses. All of these resources mean one thing for businesses and communities today: ACCESS IS POWER.

For example, small and mid-sized businesses can take advantage of perks usually reserved for big corporations--things like visibility, business advocacy, and resources. For some companies, the Chamber can assist with things they simply don’t have the time, energy, interest, or skill to accomplish on their own, including advertising, public relations, and event planning.

Chamber membership also increases legislative bargaining power for all businesses. Chamber members work together to impact decisions at the local, county, or state level by providing information to its members and facilitating forums with legislators and city officials. The clout of a unified business voice shapes the business environment of the future. When it comes to representing the needs of the business community, there is indeed strength in numbers.

For many business leaders, Chamber membership is an excellent networking opportunity. By increasing the contact and awareness among businesses, Chambers develop strong relationships within local business communities. This is becoming an increasingly important function in this era of regional development cooperation and globalization.

From increased access to community planning and the shaping of public policy, to allowing business leaders to draw from the knowledge and expertise of fellow Chamber members, Chambers are singular in their ability to assist businesses of ALL sizes. The South Suburban Chamber also benefits the communities it serves by providing events and services and promoting the growth of the local economy which, as we all know, is the foundation of every community.

The South Suburban Chamber is an exciting and vital business resource. Access provided by the Chamber gives businesses and their communities the power to grow and succeed. And that is something that helps all of us.

Fireplaces and wood stoves, popular aesthetic accessories of the recent past, are rapidly gaining prominence as primary or supplemental heat sources for homes. The rising costs, and in some instances, actual shortages of conventional home heating energies have led to greatly increased utilization of wood as a heating fuel. Firewood, one of nature's most common methods of storing solar energy, is a renewable energy source. It is a relatively clean, efficient, safe energy source having low sulfur content and is generally found throughout the country.

Today, we position our group of member businesses to be well informed on trends and developments in the area.

Our Chamber enjoys a close working relationship with city and state government and through our collective voices we play an important role in the evolution of the economy of Cudahy. We collaborate with our neighboring communities to attract large and small business interests to the South Shore area and to generate goodwill throughout.

The group holds regularly scheduled luncheon meetings at local establishments where we discuss topics that impact the area, entertain presentations by fellow business representatives and promote networking activities.

It is quite typical to have a guest speaker from state or local government addressing our quorum on topical issues of interest.

Endpoint Solutions was founded by Robert Cigale, Mark Penzkover, Kirk Kapfhammer and Wade Wollermann to effectively implement an environmental consulting business model that was not currently being offered in the market.

We understand that environmental budgets are often times limited and viewed as unnecessary expenses. Endpoint Solutions believes that a contractual arrangement that involves a guaranteed solution for a guaranteed price on a guaranteed schedule allows our clients to focus on their core business and maximizing profit rather than spending endless amounts of money on environmental compliance and cleanup.

Through creative contracting options including lump sum, firm-fixed price (not-to-exceed) and insured or escrow mechanisms, Endpoint Solutions helps clients manage tight environmental budgets by assuming project risk for cost and performance.

Endpoint Solutions takes on the risk of completing tasks and obtaining regulatory closure by guaranteeing schedules and budgets.

Frank Kleczka started cutting grass and doing small jobs with a friend from high school, 28 years ago. They started with a lawn mower, a truck and several other tools. When they parted their own ways, the other partner took over some of the duties and frank took over more of the lawn care services. He needed a name for the company, with help from his dad they decide on Advance Landscape and Maintenance. At this time Frank was working out of his home. He hired an employee to help with the work load. He realized that working out of home was a bit difficult. With the help of his father they purchased a piece of land at 5970 S Howell Ave. He purchased an old semi-trailer and used that as his work shop in the back of the lot.

Frank started buying loads of shredded bark and environmental bark for his own jobs, which helped him cut down on cost. Small landscape companies started stopping in and purchasing the bark. The small companies had no where to unload a semi of bark and Advance was centrally located for some of the companies. This is how the retail business started.

He realized that he needed an area for his supplies and an office so he built a building. He started purchasing more materials, several different types of stone and top soil. The public and small businesses started to see that we had materials that they needed. That is how the garden center started. Each year he would add more materials to sell. The building became a customer service area and a garage that we could store and repair the equipment.

In 1989 God gave Pastor Pruitt's father a dream to start a church in Beloit, Wisconsin. He obeyed the Lord. Pastor Jeff and his wife Robin joined his mother and father in planting the then New Ark Christian Fellowship in a small town hall on July 4th weekend. Although the church was small, they saw tremendous potential and it began to grow.

From 1989 to 1997 Pastors Jeff and Robin served in the ministry in a variety of capacities. They served as Youth Pastors and as Directors of the Men's and Women's Ministries. Pastor Jeff was the Assistant Pastor, Music Pastor and the Production Director. Pastor Robin managed the Day Care and was Director of the Children's Ministries. Through serving in these various roles, Pastors Jeff and Robin learned a tremendous deal about ministry and church structure.

In 1997 God spoke to Pastor Pruitt that it was time to "leave the nest" and start a church of his own. He, his wife and two children, Nick and Olivia, left Beloit and launched a church in Madison, Wisconsin. They were there for a total of 18 months and it would become one of the greatest pains of Pastor Pruitt's life.

After over a year in Madison, the church had only reached 45 members. Pastor Pruitt became very frustrated and often wanted to quit the ministry. Up until that point it seemed everything he touched turned to gold. However, he couldn't seem to make that church grow. He began to cry out to God for answers.

One Sunday morning, after he had finished preaching to his small congregation, he went to his office which was just outside the sanctuary. As he entered to put his bible away, the Holy Spirit filled the room. Pastor Pruitt was completely taken by surprise. With a flood of tears he asked the Lord, "What is it? What do You want?" In that moment Pastor Pruitt had a vision. He saw a cloud. Protruding out of the cloud were arms of all ethnicities motioning to him to come. He heard voices in the cloud saying, "Come, please come. We need you here." He then heard the Lord say, "Son, you are in the wrong place. I need you in Milwaukee, Wisconsin."

Pastors Jeff and Robin obeyed that voice and launched the Milwaukee church in May of 1999. They started out in a small rented hotel hall. They soon outgrew the hall and began renting a school building for their church services. What started with three people in 1999 had grown to over 200 people by 2001.

The year 2001 turned out to be a very unique year for the Pruitt's. Pastor Pruitt's father had come to him and told him he was leaving Beloit to go to Phoenix, Arizona to start a church. This news was difficult to hear and to understand. Nonetheless, Pastor Pruitt decided to pray with his father as to who the successor of the Beloit church would be.

In June of 2001 Pastor Pruitt was in his downstairs office in Milwaukee when the same overwhelming presence of God came upon him as it did in Madison. God spoke to him and said, "I am going to give you your cake and allow you to eat it, too." He said, "Beloit is your inheritance. I want you to take it and you will pastor both churches!" Through a series of incredible circumstances, God had been speaking that very same thing to his father.

In October of 2001 Pastor Pruitt became the Senior Pastor of Faith Builders International Ministries in Beloit, Wisconsin. Now with the theme "One church, two locations" the Pruitt's began to build.

What does the future hold for this couple and this ministry? To have seven (7) Faith Builders locations within the upper Midwest region to allow for unified regional penetration of the Gospel. They then would like to take that model to the world. Their goal is summed up best with the following statement: "Building faith to go your farthest; connecting people to reach the harvest."

Quarles & Brady LLP provides broad-based, national-level legal services through a strong network of regional practices and local offices. In our Firm’s distinguished 115-year history, we have grown from a small, well-respected local Milwaukee law firm to a place among the Am Law 200, building a national practice and earning a comparable reputation throughout the United States.

Our lawyers (more than 400) practice from offices in Chicago, Illinois; Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Naples, Florida; and Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona. Through all the changes, one attribute has remained constant: we bring a common-sense, solution-oriented approach to our clients’ complicated legal problems.

Our success has been based on the strength of our client relationships. It is our philosophy that we have reached our goals only when our clients’ objectives have been met—and exceeded.

This reputation for client service is the natural result of excellent legal knowledge and high-quality counsel, delivered in a timely, direct and client-focused manner. Recognition has also come from our peers: We have 123 of the Firm’s attorneys named as Best Lawyers in America for 2007—more than 29.9% of all our attorneys.

Our clients include major national and multinational corporations, educational and research institutions, municipalities and government agencies, nonprofits, charitable organizations, industry executives and high-net-worth individuals. Our attorneys have direct experience with a wide range of industries, from traditional manufacturing to leading-edge technology and nearly every point in-between: agriculture, energy, financial services, healthcare, insurance, pharmaceuticals and real estate, to name a few. We have the experience, resources and coverage to help our clients in nearly every aspect of modern business law.

As a Firm, we understand the difference between organization for efficiency and for organization’s sake. Our practice groups are structured according to logical areas of legal knowledge; however, we deliver seamless, interdisciplinary counsel that take into account the unique qualities of our clients, their industries and their concerns.

Quarles & Brady is more than just a law practice. As offices and individuals, our attorneys and staff are cognizant of the opportunities they have to support their local and professional communities, offering leadership and volunteer services at every level. Whether providing pro bono legal counsel to the indigent, helping to mentor children, putting our commitment to diversity into practice or developing educational programs for industry groups, we are sincere in our goal of reflecting and giving back to our communities as well as our clients.

Quarles & Brady LLP: Common Ground. Uncommon Vision.

Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin is the largest of more than 168 Goodwill organizations in North America. More than 4,000 Goodwill employees work in over 49 locations throughout 23 counties in southeastern Wisconsin and metropolitan Chicago.

Goodwill provides training, employment and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages who seek greater independence. In 2008, we served over 22,888 individuals, all striving to overcome disabilities or disadvantages. Goodwill's objective is to assist program participants in developing or securing work opportunities that fulfill their personal and professional goals, while providing wages and benefits that maintain self-sufficiency.

Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc., has been providing services since 1919. We pursue and achieve our mission by operating diverse businesses: participant programs and services, retail and salvage sales, industrial subcontracts and laundry, and service contracts with the government.

Since 1972, selected Goodwill programs and services have been accredited by CARF, the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission.

As a non-profit organization, Goodwill appreciates the continued support of government funding sources, local and national foundations, and corporate and individual donors. Equally important, however, are Goodwill's own initiatives, which help us remain a self-sustaining organization. A vital evaluation of any non-profit is how revenue is used: at Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, 92 cents of every dollar we spend directly supports our programs and services.

Greenfield has grown in population since 1839, but has been reduced in land size. We are one-third our original land size, but our population has increased 9,000%. Today the city encompasses 11.7 square miles, with boundaries so irregular that it is difficult at times to define exactly where we are located. As of Jan. 1st, 2009, the estimated population is 36,300.

Greenfield now has two fire stations with approximately 51 firefighters. The police department has increased to 55 police officers and 26 auxiliary positions. We have five aldermanic districts and a full-time mayor. Our boundaries include three school districts: Greenfield, West Allis/West Milwaukee, and Whitnall; eleven city parks: Konkel, Dan Jansen, Honey Bear, Haker, Creekwood Park, Brookside-Meadow Drive, Pondview, Wildcat Creek Nature Corridor, Bicentennial, Coopers Hawk, and Lavies, plus five county parks: Armour, Barnard, Zablocki, Kulwicki, and Root River Parkway.
