He serves as the President for AGBA and the Chairman for AGBID #40as well as serving on the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee Gateway Aerotropolis Corporation (MGAC). Gregg is one of the proud owners of Lindner Logistics who comes to the organizations with over 30 years of providing outstanding Transportation, Warehouse and Logistic services. Gregg wanted to voice his opinion and believes in the objectives and goals of the organizations. In order to have a successful business you need to be involved in different organizations and your Business Community. Gregg encourages people to join the organization because there is STRENGH IN NUMBERS!

Number of years in The Gateway? Our grandfather opened his trucking business here in the 1920s. Then our father opened a warehouse in The Gateway during the ‘70s and we added the third-party logistics center in 1994.

What attracted you to The Gateway Area? The transportation network. In our business, location with accessibility is everything and having ready access to the airport, the Port of Milwaukee and the freeway system is critical to our ability to provide exceptional services to our customers.

What is your proudest accomplishment in The Gateway? We’re very proud of the role we’ve played in making The Gateway a vibrant business community by being founding members of The Gateway To Milwaukee organizations (Gregg Lindner is a director on multiple boards). The Gateway has beautified the area, taken critical steps to increase safety and security and played a vital role in ensuring highway access and road quality. When people fly into General Mitchell International Airport, their first impression of the greater Milwaukee area is based on what they find in The Gateway, and because of changes we’ve helped drive, that first impression is a more positive one. Something we’re proud of at the company level is having the first—and only—certified hazardous materials warehouse in Milwaukee. Chicago used to have the closest hazmat facility and Milwaukee jobs were in danger because the lack of a facility was going to drive up costs for local manufacturers. We worked with the City of Milwaukee to create a facility that met nationally-recognized safety standards and helped keep jobs in the area. Lastly, we’re proud of the fact that we’ve run a family-owned and –operated business in the area for four generations. Anyone can build a warehouse or deliver products, but our family has truly been part of the community. This isn’t just a business; it’s a way of life.

Biggest challenge? Finding ways to help Gateway members work together effectively. Any time you bring multiple organizations together, you have the challenges of making sure everyone is heard and everyone is on the same page. When you’re accustomed to working for the good of one city or entity, and you have to start thinking about the benefits to multiple players, it takes a while to adjust. But there’s a true commitment among The Gateway’s members to do just that. We all recognize that being “open for business” means being transparent and seamless; making it easy for businesses to be successful in The Gateway. The aerotropolis concept—creating a sense of community based on proximity to the airport—is still relatively new and there are other areas in the U.S. that have similar resources and are equally committed to business development. Aerotropolis Milwaukee will only be successful if we pull together and work to meet common goals.

What do you envision for the future with your business? With GTM? The future looks very promising for both Lindner Logistics and for The Gateway. At the company level, exceptional service is our top priority. We recognize how critical timeliness and accuracy are in today’s “need it yesterday” marketplace and we’ve made substantial investments in projects and technology that meet clients’ needs while contributing to the community’s efforts. One example is our new secured parking area. This will help one of our clients improve their supply chain management process and it’s designed to virtually eliminate the storm water that is
released into the sewer system . The Gateway is working diligently to build awareness of Aerotropolis Milwaukee and to give businesses more reasons to consider moving here. We’re promoting our region at
national events, making extensive efforts to be a greener community—one current effort is to create a “Green Corridor” in the area and driving longer business and leisure stays through the StayParkPlay program. These united efforts will help ensure a bright tomorrow for The Gateway.
